Haul | Makeup Geek Shadows

A couple of posts back I showed you my Makeup Geek wishlist, and not long after that post did I bite the bullet and ordered myself some shadows. First I just want to express how impressed I am with Beauty Bay and their delivery service. I made the order at around 10.30pm on a Friday evening and they arrived at my door on Sunday afternoon. Not only was I amazed at how quickly they came but also that they were delivered on a Sunday!! The standard eyeshadow pans and duochrome shades are £4.95 each which I think is pretty decent. They also have foiled eyeshadows which retail for £7.95. With that out the way let's move on to what shades I ended up purchasing.

So for my first order I didn't want to tried not to go too crazy so I just picked 6 shades. Most of the shades are cult favourites and since they have been raved about so much I knew I would love them.

Cocoa Bear - Described as a matte reddish brown, this will make a perfect crease colour for a neutral smokey eye and for a all matte eye look.
Cherry Cola - This is one of the shades which is a bit out of my comfort zone. It's a deep brown with strong red undertones and is also a matte finish. I'm quite excited to try and work this into a look.
Peach Smoothie - Probably one of the most talked about shades from MUG. Peach Smoothie is known for being the perfect transition colour, described as a light peach beige. I don't tend to use a transition shade so I am looking forward to trying this out.
Shimma Shimma - Everyone needs that staple shimmery colour for the inner corner and brow bone and I think Shimma Shimma is the perfect shade being a metallic champagne.
Homecoming - Another shade perfect for a neutral smokey eye but this time with a bit of glitz. It's a medium brown with gold glitter.
Drama Queen - Definitely not my every day colour but is going to be perfect for nights out or special occasions. Drama Queen is a densely dark purple with a shimmery finish.

Baking | Hummingbird Bakery: Peanut Butter & Chocolate Chip Cookies

If you've been a long time reader of my blog then you will know how much I love to bake. It's something me and my mum tend to do whenever we have a day off together, almost a bonding tradition if you will. So a couple of days ago we decided to try out a cookie recipe from The Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook after many successful cupcake trials. So I thought I would share the recipe with you (unless you already own the cookbook then you've more than likely already tried it out!). Just a warning, the recipe states it makes 24 cookies but we managed to get 60+ sized like the picture above so be prepared.

- 225g Unsalted Butter
- 200g Caster Sugar
- 200g Soft Light Brown Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 240g Crunchy Peanut Butter
- 340g Plain Flour
- 2 1/2 Teaspoons Bicarbonate Of Soda
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 75g Dark Chocolate, Chopped (Or Chocolate Chips)

These were so easy to make and a little tip is to use crunchy peanut butter as it adds texture and honestly I feel like it tastes better. Pop them in a plastic container and you've got a little treat for weeks!
